BIOHAZARD ?

Let’s understand BIOHAZARD.

Biohazards can be considered as any biological or chemical substance that is dangerous to humans, animals or the environment. This may include blood, body fluids, human tissue and recombination DNA. These have the potential to infect anyone who is exposed to them, all human waste should be properly handled and disposed of. Biohazards are not restricted to the movies, however, and can exist almost anywhere: In the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, even in the blood pumping through our veins.

Levels of Biohazard:

Level 1: That do not generally cause disease in healthy humans. Example: bacillus subtilis, a soil bacterium that can sometimes cause illness in individuals with weakened immune systems.

Level 2: These causes severe illness in healthy humans, but can only cause infection through direct contact with infected material or through ingestion. Example: HIV, salmonella and hepatitis B.

Level 3: Pathogens can become airborne after the cause of serious disease. Example: tuberculosis.

Level 4: Pathogens that cause diseases for which there are no treatments. Example: Marburg virus (hemorrhagic fever).

Prevention

One way is to prevent illness to eliminate the exposure to biological agents. Washing hands quite often, staying vaccinated and also sterilizing surfaces at home and work.
